DAYTON, OH (May 28, 2014) – On Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 8 p.m. in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, Conductor Patrick Reynolds and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present Faithfully - A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Journey.  This Rockin’ Orchestra concert program will close the DPAA’s 2013-2014 Signature Season. Associate Sponsors for this performance are Miller-Valentine Group and 95.3 The Eagle with Supporting Sponsor Quantech Services, Inc.

The story of Journey is no daytrip; it is, indeed, a “journey” of epic proportions. It started in 1973 in San Francisco. Musicians who had formerly belonged to the bands Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch decided to join forces in a new musical entity; they formed a band they aptly named Journey.  And the rest, as they say, is history.

32 years later, after having earned two gold albums, eight multi-platinum albums, one diamond album, 18 Top 40 singles in the US (six of which were in the Top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart), two No. 1 hits on other Billboard charts, and one No. 6 hit on the UK Singles Chart, Journey was named by a 2005 USA Today opinion poll as the fifth-best American rock band of all time.

Faithfully - A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Journey celebrates the music of Journey like never before.  The Faithfully Band hails from Las Vegas, NV and comprises members Joseph Finger (Music Director and drums), Christine La Fond (vocals), Michael Johnson (lead guitar), Keith Hubacher (bass), Joseph Melotti (keyboards), and Jesse Bradman (vocals).  In addition to performing the music of Journey, members of the band have each performed with headliners over the past several years in the Las Vegas area.  Music Director Joseph Finger has toured with LeAnn Rimes and has played engagements with saxophone legend David Sanborn.  For this concert, Faithfully will take the stage with the full Dayton Philharmonic to recreate favorite Journey hits such as Don’t Stop Believing, Faithfully, Any Way You Want It, Open Arms, Wheel in the Sky, Who’s Cryin’ Now, and many more.  Daytonians will not want to miss this exciting event to kickstart the summer the right way - rockin’ with The Music of Journey at the Schuster Center!

Tickets for The Music of Journey range from $38 to $79 and are available at or by calling Ticket Center Stage at (937) 228-3630. Senior and student discounts are available.

About the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance

The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, they are the largest performing arts organization in the community, offering a tremendous variety of performance and education programs and setting a new standard for artistic excellence.  Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances are made possible in part by Montgomery County and Culture Works, the single largest source of community funds for the arts and culture in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance also receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency created to foster and encourage the development of the arts and to preserve Ohio's cultural heritage. Funding from the Ohio Arts Council is an investment of state tax dollars that promotes economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohio residents.  The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is proud to be one of five performing arts organizations in the country selected to receive a three-year "Music Alive" grant from New Music USA and the League of American Orchestras.
