DAYTON, OH (July 6, 2015) – On Friday, July 17, 2015 at 8 p.m. in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Neal Gittleman, will present The Music of ABBA, featuring the world’s best-known ABBA tribute band, Arrival From Sweden. This will be the second concert in the DPAA’s 2015 Summer in the City Musical Festival.

Internationally beloved Swedish pop group ABBA has sold over 350 million albums worldwide since forming in 1972. ABBA mania spans continents from Europe to Asia to Australia and shows no sign of stopping. Their fourteen Top 40 hits are a staple of 70s and 80s danceable pop tunes and have been featured in the hit Broadway touring musical Mamma Mia!, currently in its fifteenth year. ABBA was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.

Arrival From Sweden tours with original ABBA band members and will be backed by the full Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for one night of star-studded ABBA hits from the Mead Theater stage. Arrival From Sweden is the only group that has that has a registered trademark which includes the name ABBA in their production name, and they are the only group that has the right internationally to copy ABBA's original outfits.  Further, Arrival From Sweden is the only group that has been given an unreleased ABBA song directly from ABBA, due soon for a worldwide release. They will bring their passionate, energetic, and spot-on performance to the Schuster Center on July 17.

Arrival From Sweden and the DPO together will perform such fantastic ABBA hits as “Ring Ring,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Intermezzo No. 1,” “Fernando,” “Money, Money, Money,” “SOS,” “Mamma Mia,” “ Waterloo,” and “So Long.”  After intermission, the audience will be treated to “Voulez-Vous,” “Does Your Mother Know,” “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” “As Good as New,” “One Man, One Woman” “The Winner Takes It All,” “Chiquitita,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Summer Night City,” “Thank You for the Music,” and everyone’s favorite ABBA hit, “Dancing Queen.”

It’s Friday night and the lights will be low while Dayton grooves to the top hits of ABBA, backed by the full Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. How can anyone resist this perfect combination?
