The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra is dedicated to providing many opportunities for talented young musicians to have a variety of musical experiences which will allow them to grow and mature in their musical studies through competition with other area students. Those students who participate in the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association Music Award Competition and the Dayton Philharmonic Young Musicians Concerto Competition perform for professional musicians not only for cash awards, but also for the instructive comments which the judges provide.
Applications for both competitions will be mailed to school music departments and private teachers in mid-winter.
